Boat timetables
We are still planning a 15-day trip around Switzerland next September using the Swiss Travel Pass. I have been making great use of the train timetables online. Is there a similar online timetable for boats? I am looking to determine schedules and frequencies for travel on the lakes. Thanks

You can use the advanced search option on the sbb website to look for boat options:

Hi takingitallin,
An alternative is to find the website for each lake you'll be visiting and get their own timetable with maps and notes for food, etc. You can find them with a simple google, but to get you started:
Lake Geneva
http://www.cgn.ch/en-gb/accueil.aspx
Lakes Thun & Brienz
https://www.bls.ch/e/schifffahrt/fahrplan.php
Have fun as you plan!

If you use the link given by kja, you will first get train connections. You will then have to click on "advanced search" and to delete all symbols except the ship symbol.
That works only if you enter the exact names of the boat stations.
Tell me what lakes and rivers you are interested in and I can give you the links to the September 2016 timetables

Thanks neckervd......we would like to boat on Lake Geneva from Montreux, on LakeThun between Thun and Interlaken and also on Brienz from Interlaken to Brienz, and on Lake Luzern to Vitznau and then on down to Fluelen. We may not do all of those, but seems to be worth considering. We plan to make Wengen our base for six days and combine the boat and train for a day trip to Bern, and do the same for another day trip to Brienz. We will use Luzern as a base for three days, using the boat for a visit to Mt Rigi then on down to Fluelen, returning by train. We welcome your comments if that does not make good sense!!!
