Boat or Airplane from Athens-Santorini?

Any tips on air vs boat travel--inlate March to Santorini?

Q: How nice/enjoyable is the ferry?
Is the scenery--great? seems kike it should be.
Price/value/time relationship of these 2 optins??

We're planning on flying - it just seems to take a LONG time to do the ferry, and I don't want to spend that much of my always too short vacation getting from 1 place to another.

To Santorini from ??where? If from Athens, Aegean Airlines is listing round trip from Athens to Santorini the last week in March @ 143.48 EUR (all inclusive). It's a 45 minute flight on a nice, comfortable plane. I've never taken the ferry.

The Blue Star ferry is a very large and comfortable conventional ferry, your best chance for a pleasant boat trip between Athens and Santorini. It holds 1400 passengers and 250 vehicles and is very stable and modern. Economy tickets are 34 euro and for a few euro more you can reserve an indoor aircraft-style comfortable seat in a lounge. I recommend this because the trip takes 8 hours and sitting outdoors in March might not be very comfortable. Daily Departure from Athens/Piraeus is 7:30 AM, arriving at Santorini at 3:00 PM.

Unless u want to save $$ I would fly. The view as u pull into Santorini by ferry is very nice, but still not worth the extra time you'll spend sitting on the ferry.
