Boat from durbrovnik around the islands up to Split?

not having much luck finding a boat company (not cruise!) that our friends can join to take them from dubrovnik maybe to hvar/ another islnds an then up to split? Does this type of thing not really exist? or am i just bad at looking!

You could either use the ferry service or charter your own yatch and plan your very own course.

YES-- the above jadrolinija site is the one you want. however-- you need to know that, in our experience, ferries change and are often fully booked if in the high season.

we also took an overnight ferry from split to italy and it was fairly inexpensive and a really cute little tiny room. for that reservation, we used ocean24.de and their site is fantastic and much easier to use to research ferry routes. also-- we bought our overnight tix and they mailed them to the u.s. for free. however, that was several years ago-- don't know if it's still the case.

kawh, thanks for the heads up, i shall warn them re pre booking. I think they were picturing a romantic smallish tour style boat with maybe 50 people on it but i guess they need to rent something themselves to get this. We are getting married in dubrovnik so have become the unofficial guide for all out guests!

btw- if your friends are looking for something fun and active, last year i took a trip with islandhopping.com. They have a bunch of boats and different itenararies. My trip started/ending in Trogir. It's a biking & sailing trip where you ride and visit many of the islands. One of my best trips ever.

ohhhhh... how lucky to be married in such a gorgeous place!!

just f.y.i.-- for the relatives with a semi-backpacker budget and champagne-view taste-- we LOVED the 'villa adriatica' which is a little b&b right on the water. the rooftop has a HUGE HUGE view of old town, the harbor, the coastline, the islands.... it's an amazing place to hang out. our room had a great water view. it is just 10 yards outside the gate to the city and right next to a great public beach.

they book up--- so get the word out if you know of someone. this is not a fancy place-- it's a tiny bit backpackerish... but a seriously milloion-dollar view and location.

one of my favorite memories is having a beer on the roof with the city and marina lights twinkling -- while the owner showed a movie form his laptop projected onto the ancient wall. suddenly fireworks went off above the harbor (i think there was a boat show in town??) a wonderful, wonderful place and really sweet owners who can tell you about the war not so long ago.

If you haven't already set the date, do consult the Port of Dubrovnik's list of cruise ship arrivals. The old town is no place to be when 7,000 cruisers hit port.

See: http://www.portdubrovnik.hr/girica1.php - numbers correspond to months.
