Boat excursions from Positano

Need your ideas and input! Yes, we want to go to the Blue Grotto in Capri, how do we get there?

We are looking into Gennaro Salvatore's excursion from Positano.

Does anyone else have boat excursion recommendations or other places we should definitely visit in or near Positano? We only have two days!

Grazie!
Laura

If I only had two days in Positano, Capri could be one option, but I would spend the other day enjoying Positano. I haven't been there (yet) but I have heard very good things about it.

Maybe spend a little time with a drive along the Amalfi Drive. When we were in Sorrento, we did drive south along the Amalfi drive to a spot with a fruit stand, etc., that overlooked Positano, but that was as far as we went.

There are 5 or 6 kiosks down on the beach that offer trips to Capri daily. Usually they require that you book the day ahead and they run about 40-60Euro depending on what you get and the length of the trip.

The other alternative is to bus to Amalfi or Sorrento and take a ferry.

Last July my husband and I went to Capri and back to Positano for 54 Euro total from one of the little kiosks right down at the dock/beach. Another nice thing to do is take the boat to Amalfi and then bus up to Ravello and visit Ville Cimbrone for what I thought was the most amazing view of our entire 3 week trip all over Italy! Definitely spend a day in Positano though if you only have two days in total. Enjoy!

Rent your own boat (we rented a 40 hp gommone) and poke around the shoreline of the coast on your own. No traffic, bus jams, or parking needed. We rented one out of positano for 4 hours and zipped around, stopping to swim a few times and making our way down to Amalfi to explore and get some granita. One of the highlights of our recent trip. Liked it so much we did the same at Capri and saw the grotti, islands, arcos etc from the water.

Thank you Steve, all great web sites. Just as a FYI, the mito positano URL was not working. We are booked with the GENNARO SALVATORE excursion which I heard is quite a trip! I am looking forward to it and will give you all my full report when I return!!!!
