Boarding Passes

I know you can get a boarding pass 24 hours ahead of departure in the U.S. Can you do the same in Italy? Is this possible to do from your hotel?
Thanks

I think it depends on your carrier. We got Continental BPs on the internet from our hotels in New York and Bonn. We used their computers because I don't carry a printer with me.

For our USAir legs, we couldn't.

Robespierre,

We'll be taking that CO EWR-CGN flight next month. I'm interested in your impressions of the CO flight, service, and CGN airport.

Thanks,
MvK

Continental's service, like that of most US flag carriers, has slid a long way from the pre-deregulation days (whose stupid idea was that?)

The seat backs are very thin, making another seat row for them, and a less than completely comfortable ride for us.

The food was undistinguished, and once the drink cart went through once, we had to ask for another.

Drop-down movie screens every three rows and a single program for all is 20th-century.

But they got us there and back for $288, so what do we have to complain about?

Köln-Bonn airport is an impressive architectural accomplishment - but in terms of passenger amenity, it leaves a lot (almost everything) to be desired. Directions to check-in are cryptic and tiny, and the airline counters are two floors above ground level. It is unclear which carriers use which terminal building and where they ticket passengers, so finding the right one is a crapshoot. Add to that the fact that the 670 bus from Bonn Hbf doesn't even stop at the international departures building, and you can spend more than a few frustrating minutes getting oriented. If I do it again, I think I'll go via Köln Hbf straight to the basement station at CGN.
