true ilovelabs...my feet are fairly large for my height and add in the witchy shoes and I am all feet, tripping over myself.

I will be hopelessly out of it and continue to wear my old clunkies.

The newer narrow pants with ballet flats is a nice look though.

Isn't it strange M-Kingdom has not contributed to this thread. I hope s/he'll say it's a no-no!

Bowing to popular pressure to contribute...

Ordinary jeans with high heeled shoes looks a mess as the hem hangs halfway down the heel and the wearer looks as if they have a pig's trotter for a foot. Boots with heels and jeans are more acceptable, and can indeed look quite good, but one must be very careful in pairing the two up.

However, I feel that heels will always look best with smart trousers or better still, skirts/dresses/gowns. The point of heels is to extend the leg and provide it with a more elegant and poised finish, wearing jeans hides the effect. Skirts/dresses maximise the impact of heels in glamourising one's legs.

Blue jeans with black heels is a definite no-no, but I'd imagine that many Americans (and British) fashion criminals indulge in the illegal.

Indeed it can, however sometimes the effect can be deliberate and work with great style.

Blue jeans and black heels is boring, and banding as a consequence is highly undesirable.

However, if you're wearing a blue denim (I'm trying to stay true to the jeans theme here) skirt with perhaps turquouise/orange/purple (other bold colour) stockings to match in with a top, then a contrasting pair of heels is appropriate and as such will create a very bold style statement. I'm thinking Pucci, Dolce e Gabbana, Missoni, and other bold Italian designers.

I'll repeat my original sentiments, black heels and blue jeans is boring, banding and if you coupled that with a black top, you'd be so banded you could risk blending into flags.

TravelsWisely/blacktie/rexskidmore...
If I am suffering from celebrating, it would be my anniversary, not an election.
If you must change your screen names more than twice in a thread, please do not address any more questions to me. I find you tiresome at best.
Thank you.

scarlett: Wrong. I am not blacktie nor am I TravelIsWisely. I'm actually myself. Only.

I'm betting that your therapy bills outpace your travel bills. What's it like to be paranoid? Projecting your own schizophrenia onto others may make you feel in the company of your own -- so, if that's what it takes for your to feel normal in the south, then so be it. Otherwise, lay off.

IMHO if every poster was as pleasant and as much fun as Scarlett what a joy it would be.

I share Scarlett's paranoia then, because I have to agree; having looked at your other posts, if you're not blacktie, then you must meet him. Your personalities are a perfect match--same smug arrogance, even the same mantra about not traveling. What a coincidence.!

rex skidmore, if you are not blacktie, I DO apologize. As it has been noted, you two are very similar.
If and when I do seek therapy, I will include your remarks, perhaps I can share them with the rest of the Fodors community. I am sure it will be much more entertaining than any you have made so far.
Blacktie, TravelsStupidly etc will no doubt be around again, and you might notice him and see that if you are not one and the same, you are too much alike.
I will though, leave your name out of any of my postings, since it did upset you.

LoveItaly, truer words, truer words! Fodors needs more like her, and fewer who suggest she's paranoid or schizoid, for shame rex and oo, how gratuitously unkind. Can't we all just get along and keep it focused on travel. But those who don't, perhaps they might spend some time on a possible trip. Why don't we all agree that in 2005, more travel, less keyboard. In the Fodors Spirit!!

And let's not post under another name!!It's great to defend our friends, like scarlett but not by using another name after accusing another of doing that

Oh for goodness sakes. If you're going to change your name every two minutes, blacktie,rex/smiling, the least you could do is change your writing style so as not to insult us! Have you no imagination or is your head in the same rut all the time?

Now let's get back to blue jeans and high heels or Degas will have to roll out another desert recipe.
