Bloomsbury, London: Internet cafes?
Anybody know the location of any Internet cafes in Bloomsbury? I'm staying at the Euston Plaza Hotel.
|
Walk over to Tottenham Court (not that far away)and use the computers at Easy Everything inernet cafe. They're fast and not very expensive, depending on the time of day.

Walk straight down Great Russell St. (in front of the Brit. Museum) till you get to the first major cross road, I think it's Soho, they're everywhere. Rather than getting yourself lost, just pop into a pub (Museum Tavern across from Brit. Mus.) and ask one of the bar staff. You'll find there is no shortage of places to send/receive emails from.

In 3/02 I found a little one called Global Talk at 68 Marchmont St. (near Tavistock) which runs parallel to Upper Woburn Pl. where I think your hotel is located. I was staying nearby. Have fun!

Thank you--if other people have answers please go ahead, as I'll check again from London (now that I have some ideas where from).

Easyeverything at Tottenham Court Road is very easy to find, inexpensive, and it opens 24 hours a day. It's just 1 minutes walk from the Tottenham Court road tube station. You can't miss it.

Enjoy your trip.

EasyEverything is a perfectly OK place to get online, but it's not really an internet cafe. I use it, but I often find its bright lights, DayGlo orange decor, and early evening crowds rather off-putting. For a change of pace in the same neighborhood, nip around the corner to Cyberia Cafe on Whitfield Street (sort of behind the Goodge Street tube station), where internet access is free. Cyberia was the first cyber cafe in London and is still hanging in there.

Other options for getting online in London can be found at http://www.indiana.edu/~victoria/trip.html#net

Q.P.

Elizabeth: I'm staying at the Euston Plaza Hotel in July. I'd be interested in your review of the hotel and its location. Could you let me know when you get back. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks alot and have a great trip. Maria

The Easyeverything/Subway Cafe in Tottenham Court Road very close to Oxford Street has been suggested by someone. From the British Museum, you can see the very tall Centrepoint building which is at that junction (so walk toward the tall building).

The easyeverything used to be cheap but other internet cafe has lowered their prices. So enquire at any internet cafe that you see.
