Blois to cheverny

I plan to do a day trip from paris to cheverny/blois. I intend to take a train from Paris to Blois, checkout the town of Blois and then proceed to Cheverny. Not sure what are the available means of transporataion from Blois to Cheverny. Guide books mention TLC buses, but how frequent are they? What are the alternate means and their costs, e.g. rental car from blois?

How much time do you think the whole excusrsion from Blois to Cheverny will take? Any recommendations on the 10 minute balloon ride available in Cheverny?

I just checked the Blois web site to get some information. Unfortunately it is not up to date. The infos from last year are the following:

TLC excursions open from mid-may to beg. september
Price: 10 ?
Leaves Blois station at 9:10 and 1:20.
Comes back to the station at 1:10 and 6:00

I think Cheverny is only about 10 miles or less from Blois (15 km)-- wouldn't it be easier just to take a cab if you don't like the bus schedules? I certainly wouldn't rent a car for that.

Thanks guys for your replies. So, looks like there are only 2 buses a day. I plan to visit in April so caches are not an option. Any idea what the cabs cost like?
Rahul,

You will enjoy the town of Blois and make sure that you tour the Chateau. I think historically and archetecturaly it is the most intersting and intriquing of the chateax. It has 4 different archetectual style and Catherine de Medici died there and there was also a murder there, (something like Henri la Guise). Also notice the Salamanders (the symbol of Francois I) and the porcupines (the symbol of Henry IV. They also have a nice "son et lumiere" show that is worth seeing.

Have fun,

RJS
