Blois area - Most luxurious places to stay?

Planning a weeklong trip to the Blois, Amboise, Tours area of the Loire Valley for this summer and would love to find recommendations on the most luxurious chateau accomodations in the area. Price is not a consideration - would like elegant decor, large rooms or suites with views, etc. Thank you!!! Sara

For our Loire stay last summer, we considered splurging at the Domaine des Hautes de Loire or the Chateau de Noizay, both near Amboise, well reviewed here on the Forum and both members of Relais Chateaux. The tariff for a superior double room high season with brk. and VAT was well beyond our budget, so we chose the more reasonable but beautiful Manoir les Minimes, next door to the pricier (but not nicer, in our opinion) Le Choiseul in Amboise, which we loved.
But if you want the ultimate in luxury in a country estate setting, you might want to consider the 2 above, especially the Domaine des Haute de Loire. It's used (or used to be) by Butterfield and Robinson for their upscale biking tours.

You might want to look at Le Choiseul in Amboise.

The Domaine des Hautes de Loire is special--luxuries like a shower with 6 different sprays at various levels and huge marble bathtubs. The décor is absolutely lovely and true to the area in which the hotel is located. However, the hotel is not actually a château, if that's important to you; it's a former "gentleman's residence," basically a country manor. I hope that won't stop you from staying at this very elegant hotel.

Another spot that I could recommend in the region is the Domaine de Beauvois, in Luynes. Like the Domaine des Hautes de Loire, Beauvois is a member of the Relais et Châteaux group but part of this hotel is actually a château. We stayed--by luck, moving from another place at the last minute--in the pavillion in the wooded grounds. Our very large room had 2 separate bathrooms and was very comfortably furnished. Next door to us was a living-room suite, also quite large. It was like living in a villa rather than staying at a hotel.
