Blarney, Cashel, Cahir, Kilkenny
 

I am in final stages of trip planning for May and need some help with the middle part of my trip.

I am trying to figure how to connect Blarney, Cashel, Cahir and Kilkenny with in 2days without a car?? I know, I know thought I would put it out there to see any suggestions

I will be arriving in Blarney at night then wake up to go to the Blarney castle then head to Cashel and possible Cahir. I would love to go to Cobh if possible. The next day head to Kilkenny then head to Dublin. Here is what I have planned for the day:

Is that to much to do each day without a car. Or should I just consider renting a car in Cork then making my way to each place and dropping off in Dublin. I have looked into tours to possibly do a 2 day tour to including these place or even day tours but have not been able to include all that i want to.

I I do bus it not sure if bus or rail is better? Would love any suggestions! Thanks

Blarney is on a bus route into Cork where you can get a bus (No8) to Cahir and Cashel and back. The Number 7 bus runs to Kilkenny from Cork but check the timetables to get the straight run. Cobh is a train ride down from Cork whether you can fit what you want into a day is up to you but having a car would in this instance make little difference.

Thanks! So are you saying it really does not matter if I have a car or not. Would having a car help me get around more. (Never drove on the left).

What is the bus line called for #7 and 8? Bus Éireann?

I am getting to Blarney Village via Bus Eireann? It takes 5hrs. is this the best option??

Getting to Blarney from Where?

For the stops which are on direct bus routes you don't need a car, it's when you want to get off the track you need a car. Our nearest bus stop is 15 miles away.

NB if your only reason for not hiring a car is driving on the left, it left really isn't that much of a problem -- I know it scares people but the switch from right to left and back is nowhere near as hard as one imagines. Roundabouts are the most problematic. Just take it slowly and don't start in a big city.
