Blame it on Cinema Paradiso
We are leaving for Rome in 4 weeks and getting more and more excited! Just wondering whether there is anywhere they show movies out of doors in Rome - seems like a great way to spend a summer evening.

There are a few places around that do this. Check with your hotel for listings for Cinaema all'aperto or Cinema d'estate.

Any chance the movies are in English? I'm copying down those names now...Thanks Siena US

The tendency in Italy is to dub rather than subtitle foreign films. Chances are, if they were showing an English-language film, it would be dubbed into Italian. Some more specialized theaters might show films in original language with subtitles.

Pasquino in Trastevere (Vicolo del Piede 19) shows English language movies every day and in summer the roof opens up. It was closed for refurbishing but I believe is open now. The Alcazar, also in Trastevere at Via Cardinal Merry del Val 14, shows original language movies on Mondays.
