Especially driving in the countryside, I can't imagine using "the side of the road" will be a problem.
|
It certainly wouldn't be in France! We always giggle when driving along and seeing Frenchmen turned away from the road to admire the scenery.

Worktowander,
if you read this, please email me at [email protected]. It is a question about your tickets from Prague to Munich. |
Just came back from a week in Tuscany and 4 days in Venice. I too need to use the bathroom frequently and the best advice I read here was to "never overlook an opportunity."
I used every concievable type of restroom on this trip, and can say that I never really had a problem finding one. Between my DH and I, we were always ready to buy a little something if I needed to stop in a cafe to use the facilities. One or the other of us always was ready for a water, a coffee, tea, or something. The owners are much more happy about accomodating tourists' needs if something is purchased. Department stores, large book stores, museums and other major tourist destinations usually have a loo. Big hotel lobbies are another suggestion I have used. A smile, a "may I look around" and a search usually lead to a restroom. If not, a "thank you, and oh, dove la toilette?" will work, too. ;-) |
Wow, thanks for the responses. We won't worry, not that worry would to any good anyway. But I can ease his mind a bit on the topic. Thanks

Uhm, advice for you cupspinner as don't think it has been mentioned. Do bring some pursesize packets of tissues with you and always have one in your purse, in case the restroom does not have TP. Wishing you two a beautiful trip, it sounds wonderful.

Definitely carry change with you.
I needed it at the train station as well as several other places.and I second the advice to carry a tissue or two with you. When you find a bathroom, use it. As my mom would say, "Atleast try to go" |
This is for YOU cupspinner - If you suffer with the heat try doing what I had to do in 42C in Australia.
Soak a black T/shirt in cold water - wring it out and wear it - the evaporation acts like an airconditioner against your body. Black works best as you cant see through it and believe me, nobody will even notice your shirt is wet! |
