Black Forest Distance

Does anyone know how far the Black Forest is from Bitburg, Germany?

Rex Nov 8th, 2000 10:49 AM

The Black Forest is not a "point" destination, like the Eiffel Tower, you know. But some representative distances are:

Bitburg to Baden-Baden: 305 km, 3 hrs

Bitburg to Titisee: 429 km, 4 hrs 24 minutes

Whoops! Hit "post" too soon. Forgot to add that you can find these and other driving distance information at www.euroshell.com

Mari,
As Rex says, the Black Forest is not a "point" but rather a true forest over 100 miles in length running from approximately Karlsruhe to the Swiss border It's probably no more than 30 or so miles in width from east to west any point but to drive east to west will involve far more miles than 30 due to its network of winding roads.

You are in desperate need of a good German map. I believe I recommended the Michelin Map No 419 in an earlier response to one of your queries. The map details most of the area you are interested in.

Try www.onemapplace.com.
That is where I have purchased several maps of Switzerland, Germany and Austria, including the one referenced by Wes.
