Birthday in Florence
 

We will be spending my husband's birthday in Florence, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for something really special to do, either that day or night, to celebrate?<BR><BR>Thanks in advance.<BR>

Have a room in Baglioni Hotel or another 4 or 5 star hotel in the center of Florence and have a pic-nic in bed? I mean, before suggesting you something &quot;special&quot; to do with your husband, We would need to understand what is &quot;special&quot; to you!

For dinner, I'd highly recommend La Girostra. Really great food, very friendly staff in a very comfortable setting. At the Chef's recommendation I had two Tuscan specialties, Wild Boar Ragu with Tagliatelle and braised rabbit. Dinner for my wife and I, with a bottle of wine, was a very reasonable $100 Euro's. <BR><BR>After dinner, you might consider a cocktail at Cipriani or a casual stroll through the Piazza Republica for the music.

I'm sure the &quot;specialties&quot; will still happen, however.<BR><BR>Ira &amp; Ryan, both restaurants sound fabulous, so I'll look into them. We live on a very small island and don't get exoctic dishes very often, so La Girostra might just be an option.<BR><BR>Thanks again! Anyone else?<BR>
