Birthday dinner near Eiffel Tower
Hello! We will arrive in Paris on my birthday and I'd like to enjoy a lovely dinner near the Eiffel Tower. My husband and I have visited Paris previously, but our 2 sons will be with us on this trip (elementary age) and we might meet up with several of my husband's coworkers. I could have 8 to even 20 people! This is most of their first trip to Paris, so I thought they would enjoy a walk that evening after dinner to see the Eiffel Tower light show.
We are interested in mid-range pricing, bistro-like, quaint, typical French cuisine (Steak frittes, coq au vin, beef bourg., chateaubriand, etc). A place that takes reservation is probably a must for our size group. I have looked online a bit, and bookmarked Pasco. I cannot fully translate their menu but it looks like it has a good selection, as well as a private room. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. |
Try Le Clos des Gourmets on Ave Rapp.
www.closdesgourmets.com If you want a simple bistro/cafe try Le Champ des Mars on Ave Rapp & Bourdelais. We've stayed in an Apt directly across the street for 6 weeks (3 trips), and the Brasserie has pretty basic steak/frites, salads, etc. We can see the Eiffel Tower from our apt - but we're 5 floors up. You might be able to see the tip of the tower from the Brasserie. I don't know if they take reservations, however. We're foodies and wouldn't think of going there for dinner - but we've been several times for lunch. Better for a party of 20 than 8. http://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationP...de_France.html You had better find out soon if your party is 8 or 20. Not many places will accommodate a party of 20. And you'll need reservations well in advance for a party of 8, as Le Clos des Gourmets is not that large. If like other small restaurants, you may be required to post a deposit.

Le Bistro de Bretheuil can accommodate a large group, but of course a reservation in advance is essential.

I can highly recommend Restaurant de la Tour which is literally 2 blocks from the Eiffel Tower. I love this little family bistro - very good food, excellent selections on the prix fixe and a beautiful atmosphere. You must reserve for a party as the place is small.

Wonderful!!! Thank you for the recommendations. I will check them out. Our trip is in June so plenty of time to get this worked out. Can't wait!
