Birmingham hotels

My wife and I may be in Birmingham for one night and have had the Thistle and the Queens Moat (aka the Grand Hotel) near Snow Hill station recommended. They apparently don't have a website. We will be taking a special train trip from Snow Hill so want to stay close by. Anyone stayed there or know of other hotels within a short walking distance of Snow Hill station? Thanks.

Hi Ken

I am not sure where Snow Hill is, you could ask the hotel where it is in relation to central Birmingham.

If it isnt too far I would recommend a hotel on Broad Street, which is a lively area full of restaurants, cafes and bars in central Birmingham, and it is dissected by the regenerated canal which is really pretty now.

Hotels there include inexpensive, functional but not very exciting ones such as Novotel which costs 50 (UK) oer room per night.

Email me direct if you need phone number for Novotel, I have stayed there a few times.
