Birecik and evening in Sanliurfa.

1. I am going to Halfeti from Sanliurfa,so I gues I'll have to change buses at Birecik. Is there anything I can do in Birecik for an hour or so? Like where do I find the castle or the birds, what do I ask people for(what are the places called)?

2. How do I go about spending a few hours(3-4) in Urfa? Which are the bazaars I should target,or any localities which have different architecture, markets etc, that could by done by walking around?
And any recommendations for eating/buying sweets?

In Urfa, go directly to Abraham's house and lake area. There are many shops with very reasonable prices in the area. It is also the location from where you can climb up to Urfa castle.

I only spent half a dy in Urfa, so do not know more than that.

However, if you have not arranged to visit Gobeklitepe, you must do so. These 12,000 year old temples are only 12 kilometres from Urfa.

We drove through Birecik. Found it to be a lovely town for that region. You cannot miss the castle "kalae" in Turkish pronunciation. I do not about where to find the birds or if it is the season for them.
