Billecart-Salmon

This is my favorite champagne. Will be in Paris this fall and would love to do a tour/tasting as a day trip. Their website does not mention visits and has no contact information. Yet, when I google "Billecart-Salmon visit" I find even Trip Advisor has reviews.

Anyone one here have experience with this particular champagne house? Long shot, I know!

No, but Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose is my mom's favorite champagne so I'm interested to see if you get any replies.

The guys at my wine store have told me that this is a delicate, feminine champagne, and that if you like it you have a very refined palate. That must be you in a nutshell, Judy!

Oh Leely, what a perfect description of me!!

Actually, a friend introduced us to it and she will be in Paris with us so it would be a perfect day trip. It is an exquisite champagne. We cannot afford to drink it regularly.

I did find a phone number and one of my daughters who speaks french will call them for me. I'll report any response.

The website does have contact info. You need to look on the bottom right for the "Contact" button. It appears from their website that you can do visits (French version) although it doesn't specifically say so.

It seems you have to call: +33 (0)3 26 52 60 22

Boy, do I feel like a dummy. I clicked on everything on that website but the very bottom. I did find the phone # but not the e-mail. Thanks, FrenchMystiqueTours and StCirq!

StCirq Jan 19th, 2014 02:28 PM

It's OK, Judy. It took me quite some time to ferret out the information (but I love sleuthing!).

Have e-mailed and will have daughter call if that does not work out. Thanks for the help!

So jealous. We also adore their Champagne (especially the Rose) and wanted to visit when we were in Champagne. But, it was August and they were closed for visits.

Will want all the details. Enjoy.

The Brut Rose is my favorite....hope it works out! We visited Ruinart last year and really enjoyed their vintage rose.

FrenchMystiqueTours Jan 19th, 2014 02:47 PM

Understandable, it's barely noticeable at the bottom of the page. If you perhaps want to visit a few more houses you might want to take a look at this website by a very knowledgeable poster on the Trip Advisor forum:

Thank you....great website! My husband and I have been to the champagne region before. I think, if we can get an appointment at Billecart-Salmon, we may want to spend some time in Reims as well....perhaps one champagne house there and a visit to the cathedral.

FrenchMystiqueTours Jan 19th, 2014 03:03 PM

If you change your mind about Reims there are several little charming villages on the train line that runs between Paris and Epernay and most of them have at least a few (if not several) champagne houses so you could stop at a few villages along the train line on your way back to Paris.

FMT, I have your day trips from Paris printed out....you have been such a great asset for us when planning our trips. We travel to Paris (and other parts of France) usually twice a year and have really benefited from your expertise and willingness to share. Thank you!

FrenchMystiqueTours Jan 19th, 2014 03:19 PM

None of the villages I'm talking about are on my day trip list. Just an FYI. You can look at a few of them in this report if interested:

Happy to help your trip planning. :)

Wow....took me a while to read that. You are such a great resource!
