Bilbao public transportation

Will be staying in Bilbao for five nights, and need help with public transportation within the city. I'll get the Barik card for the metro. Are there other cards for buses, etc. to consider? TIA.

There is a card that works on bus and metro. We picked up a three day card which includes the elevator up to the basilica and a metro ride to the coast with a return by bus. The clock starts on the date and time when you first use the card.

I believe youīve posted this also on TA. Barik is the only public transport card, contactless, that is valid for all public transportation in the province of Bizkaia (Bilbao is the capital). If on a green bus, donīt forget to validate it at the entry and when exiting. You can use it on tram, metro, any public bus, funicular, hanging bridge, train to Bermeo, Gernika and San Sebastian...almost any public transport. You only have to charge it at the machines on any station, itīs valid forever.

Thanks. Mistaken that the Barik card is for metro only.
