Bike rental in Ireland? What's your experience? �� ����

Bike rental in Ireland? What's your experience? �� ����
My husband and I are going to Ireland August 19-28, we have our airfare, but are still working on hotels and B&bs et...
We love to ride and are hoping to stop in some areas and rent bikes. Would it be better to rent from one place and carry the bikes along with us so we can stop along our route?
So far we think the route we will take is , landing and leaving from Dublin, onto Wexford one night, to Kinsale one night, Kilarney 3 nights so we can ride one day in the Dingle Penn, visit other sites in that area. Onto Adare, we want to stay at the Dunraven Arms Hotel, but could use suggestions of weather or not to go onto another location in the direction of Dublin. From Adare we were thinking of 2 nights in Dublin then on home.

I am not sure this will help but .. I have rented bikes twice in Ireland and brought my own once. I was happy to have my own bike on the Dingle Penninsula as the bikes I have rented were not quite racing bikes, as in they were more like Mary Poppins bikes. There may be great rentals out there but we didn't find them. On the other hand you may be perfectly happy with a heavier bike.
In Killarney there was a bike rental place right off the main square that was fine for touring the area at a pleasant pace.

As with any trip to Ireland, be prepared for weather. It can rain at any time 
But the brilliant sun can also shine through the clouds to a chorus of angels.
We rented bikes on Inis Mor for our three days there, and it was nice, but the bikes were rather old and mine didn't get out of 6th gear
