biddingfortravel.com

I haven't traveled in a while, so haven't used biddingfortravel.com recently. I have an upcoming trip to London, and when I checking the website, I was surprised at how few winning bids for London were posted. For example, there were only 4 posts in January and none in February. I know it's off-season, but that still seems pretty paltry. The London hotel list also seems outdated.

Does anyone know why the traffic has fallen off so precipitously at biddingfortravel? Is the board still being moderated? Did they get trumped by betterbidding.com? Thank you for your input (and for the great travel info I have found on this board!)

You might try one of the other bidding websites like www.betterbidding.com
and see if you get more results. And there are some others but I am not familiar with them.

Since Sheryl the administrator has been sick, business has fallen way off. This happened before when she got sick, but she got better and came back. This time, I don`t know if she will be back or not. I have no idea what is wrong with her.

Sorry to hear about Sheryl; wishing her the best.

Biddingfortravel.com used to be very useful, much less so now. Thank you for the update.

A while back, some people got 'banned' from her site. It was apparently an error of some sort. People got mad and started slamming her on numerous other sites. Personally, I think they were overly hash. Can't help but think that had something to do with it.

Give www.HotelDealsRevealed.com a try. It has a lot of potential but not quite the popularity yet.

All the best to Sheryl's health.

I have used these sites a lot, recently and in the past. I've switched to betterbidding for all the above reasons and have been pleased with that site.

Having been "slammed" by Sherly... I can tell you why she's not getting new posts. She tracked me down to another board and threatened me for not using 'her link' (I mean really... it's was too funny for words) Basically the approach on there has driven lots of posters off (including me) I don't think there was any "error" about what she did, her messages to posters on her boards and on others (she made a huge pass on flyertalk.com for example which is where she found me and accused me of all kinds of interesting things.... booking trips to places I had never gone using Priceline but not using HER links. If I posted on flyertalk about going to Spain, there she was screaming that "you used my data to book your trip, but not my link" even though I wasn't making a current trip or hadn't used PL to book a hotel for that trip) She actually has been banned from several other travel boards due to her actions. No clue what she is trying to "do" but....

And all this occured before she got sick. I heard she was nicer on her return, but never bothered to go look.

I use www.betterbidding.com

that hotelsdealsrevealed site is only for north america and mexico. At least that is the conclusion I have come to. Did I miss something?

I am the OP, and I just got back from London a few days ago. I ended up using wotif.com for London and booking.com for Cardiff instead of priceline. I have used both of these several times in the past, and have not been disappointed. Not as cheap as priceline, but good prices nonetheless. Thanks for all your replies.
