Beware about CLICKAIR!!

Ok, I'm really frustrated right now. One week ago i have bought tickets for Athens-Barcelona on 25th of April, return 2 May.

I check the site now, in order to buy some more, and what do i see? That there are no flights on the dates i've booked one week ago!!!!!
I login and i notice that they've changed my CONFIRMED reservation and adjusted it, to other dates!! (24 April to 1 May) Are they for real?!! I'm completely freaked out right now
a. because i've already booked a hotel, and i've already changed the dates 2 times with them.
b. because i've booked airtickets for Sevilla and the return to Barcelona is in 2 May in order to get the next plane to Athens!!!

Of course i have no intention of paying more money to Clickair, to change my Barcelona-Sevilla tickets in order to be on time for my Barcelona-Athens ticket.

What should i do?? Really i've heard good things about clickair and now i can't believe how unprofessional they are, changing the schedule without even notifying the customers!!!

lincasanova Jan 23rd, 2008 01:43 PM

wow. i may not be the best person, but.. can you email them and see if they can cover expenses of changing your other tickets? (are they also with clickair)?

or is it so messed up that even that wouldnīt help?

I think there is some fine print with these low cost companies that says they can cancel flights/etc. with no repercussions. They will give you back 100% of your money, i assume. but that may be all.

hope you are able to work it out.

ClickAir should give you a refund. If they don't, do a credit card chargeback.

Then you will have to find another way to get to Barcelona.

Carriers do change their schedules.

alanRow Jan 23rd, 2008 01:53 PM

Airlines (even the "good" ones) change schedules all of the time

And low costs airlines are point to point ONLY. If you want to go from A to B via C you should book a flight through a normal airline that allows connecting flights

cristine27 Jan 23rd, 2008 11:13 PM

Thanks, i needed to vent yesterday! I've already sent them an email, and now i'll just have to wait and see...
AlanRow, it has never happened to me before, but the point is that if i hadn't checked yesterday, i would have gone to the airport according to my confirmation email and my plane would have left the previous day.
What made me really furious was that they changed my booking without sending a notification email in order to check it out. I just saw it by accident...

cristine27 Jan 23rd, 2008 11:36 PM

Well i've just called them.. The point is that they can refund me or change the ticket Athens-Barcelona, but they can't do anything about the one to/from SEville..
So actually i have to cancel it and loose my money or change it to another date and have to pay 120€ for 2 people more for the changes!! Great...

check into this whole itinerary to athens from madrid. you may be able to do better taking full reimbursement, and getting yourself to madrid for webfare on train, than flying again to bcn just to catch an airplane.

( i may have understood your barcelona time wrong.. excuse solution if that is so)

Hi C,

Sorry to hear about your predicament.

It's the airline that changed the schedule, not clickair.

Did you check your spam folder for the missing e-mail?

Clickair is doing the right thing by offering you a refund or a change for the flight that was rescheduled.

If you bought non-refundable tickets for another leg, you might be able to change them for a fee.

((I))

I thought Clickair WAS the airline.

Changing schedule to different times is one thing but to entirely different days?????

wanderlust5 Jan 24th, 2008 05:43 AM

I have never even heard of this airline. I guess the lesson is choose one that is well known to you. That stinks! You might see if some other airline will honor the tickets (highly unlikely but you never know).

wanderlust5 Jan 24th, 2008 05:45 AM

I just reread this whole string. So Click Air is the booking agent? How weird is that. Definitely check back through your emails. This is frustrating I know. Sorry you are dealing with this right before your trip.

mrgrumpy Jan 24th, 2008 05:55 AM

clickair is the low cost part of Iberia, you may get more response from Iberia. Click may be pulling out of sevilla as i have been traveling to sevilla from gatwick since BA dropped the route. Now you cannot book with click after the end of march on this route. Looking on Iberia the only way to sevilla with them is from heathrow via madrid. So it look like i will have travel from stansted with the much despised ryanair

abynrml2106 Jan 24th, 2008 10:19 AM

This is about Clickair but not your specific problem. I just made reservations via internet and declined their travel insurance. Now I look at my credit card account and see they charged me for it anyway! It's only $6.+ but it's the principle.

Christina Jan 24th, 2008 10:26 AM

A lot of airlines do indeed change schedules to different days entirely, if it's a route they don't do every day. A lot of budget carriers in Europe only do certain routings once or twice a week.

It would be nice to be notified, but anyone with an airlne ticket should always be checking periodically themself to see if there are any schedule changes.

kenderina Jan 24th, 2008 10:37 AM

Clickair is an airline, not a booking agent. And it is rather new, but it is very well known. It's a low-cost Iberia owned, and in fact, the ones who were Iberia flights to London or Paris from Valencia right now have turned into Clickair flights. I've flown with them and they are OK, brand new planes and the customer office were very kind and prompt answering emails when I asked some questions about wheelchairs availability at the airport.
I'm sorry to hear you had trouble with them..but yes, it sounds very common nowadays to change dates and schedules without notifying in almost every airline (it happened to a friend of mine recently with BA in Edinburgh).

cristine27 Jan 25th, 2008 06:48 AM

Well i've called our hotel if they could accomodate us one night before and apparently they can't..no availability!! So apart from the fact that we'll have to cancel the sevilla part and loose the money, we'll have to change hotels as well just for one night!!

I don't know if it's common practise for airlines to do that because it has never happened to me before and i hope it won't happen again in the future because it ruined my excitement..

Anyway, there are worst things in life.. thanks for listening!! :-)

lincasanova Jan 25th, 2008 07:40 AM

what a PIA. there could have been ALL SORTS of previously paid engagements messed up.

hope the rest works out for you with few hicups.

Lindsay28 Feb 18th, 2008 01:30 AM

How do I make changes to my ticket on the clickair website? I cannot find a link anywhere! I cannot find a phone number either.

lincasanova Feb 18th, 2008 01:50 AM

if they canīt take care of this at sales/info
800 254 25 247

then you need to call POST SALES CLIENT ATTENTION whihc is VERY expensive at 807 117 117 at .41 cents/minute plus tax.

might be cheaper to just rebook and forget their call center. could get really expensive.

intl code in front of all these numbers. from usa 011)

this info was on the left hand side of spanish page. not sure if it is elsewhere.

cristine27 Feb 18th, 2008 07:47 AM

Lindsay28 i'm STILL waiting for their phonecall one monthe now... their service is terrible and i have the worst experience so far...

Anyway, you can go to their website and on the menu in the right there is "my clickair" You can go in with your email and password and see your booking. There you can change it BUT you CAN'T cancel it!!! Now that i want to cancel it i have to call them.. they have another spanish number where i call but i can't find it right now. If you won't be able to do it through the website let me know and i'll search for the phone number!
