better hotel or better room?

Hmmm.Looked into a room rate which was for a standard double, 265 Euros..what do you think, try another hotel and go for the deluxe room,or take the expensive hotel and go fo their standard??? Not sure which Id prefer,a better room or hotel...

Sounds like a good idea.

If only we had any clue what you are talking about...

Best wishes,

Hi
assuming that both hotels meet my requirements (location, amenities, etc)then I think I would go for the best room in one hotel rather than the lowest category room in another hotel.
You don't say what the price differential is, that's a factor.

Do you want the top-line Chevrolet with the options or the stripped down Buick?

kmoncrief Jan 14th, 2004 08:04 AM

really the Buick..with ac and maybe a radio! anyway just a thought in general ,didnt want to go into details. Difference in price would most likely be 275 for standard room in very nice hotel,or say 260 for a very nice room in a nice hotel!

Maybe I'm trying to oversimplify, but if one hotel isn't so great, I wouldn't care about their idea of "deluxe" room. A deluxe room in lousy hotel would still be lousy, probably. I'd put up with a smaller room without a view or similar extras if the hotel and presumably their rooms were nicer.

But I've never been able to figure out where you draw the line between a "nice hotel" and a "very nice hotel".
