best way to return to ny from budapest
 

I do not enjoy flying and prefer to fly nonstop whenever possible. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to go back home from Budapest to NY non stop?

There do not appear to be any non-stops between Budapest and NYC. I think you will need to take a train to an international airport with non-stop flights if you want to avoid a connection.

You might try Vienna or Munich - but both would involve a significant train trip.

thank you...I may just have to fly with a stop as there may not be time permitting to take the train to Vienna or Munich.

Vienna is only two and a half hours direct from Budapest. Not what I would call significant.

Yes, but then they would have to get from the train to the Vienna airport and leave time for check in, security etc. So might have to travel there the day before.

Budapest to Vienna airport:

Three hours twelve min with two changes.
Three hours twenty-two min with one change.

I much prefer direct flights, but in this situation I changed planes in Frankfurt.
