Best way to pay for train ticket using Renfe

Hello, I need to buy a Barcelona Madrid ticket, going to the renfe site they ask for a registration, do I have to?
And then what is the best way to pay for my ticket. I am asking this because I have heard that Renfe is reluctant to take US credit cards. Do I have to do something? Like registering with an address in another country, I could easily give a Buenos Aires , address. Please I need some advice. Thank you

Most Americans have problems trying to buy tickets through Renfe's web site. You can easily book your tickets at http://petrabax.com/renfe/. Petrabax is the NA partner of Renfe. And no foreign transaction fee, if you don't have a card that offers no foreign transaction fees.
