Best way to get from Poland to Sweden?

Hi,

I am traveling to Krakow in August this summer with my husband, Polish aupair and three kids (ranging in age from 2-9). We plan to spend one week in Krakow and another week in Stockholm, with an open jaw flight leaving from Stockholm. What are the best options for flights or ferries to get from Poland to Sweden? We are happy to consider a ferry (actually my five-year old prefers this mode of travel) as long as it does not take more than a day; or alternatively an inexpensive flight (if they exist). Thanks for any ideas!

This will require two airlines - - see www.whichbudget.com or more specifically - - http://www.whichbudget.com/en/cheapflights.php?from=KRK

Plenty of pleasant places where you might choose to spend a day, in transit - - especially Copenhagen, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam or London.

Best wishes,

Rex

I'm generally an advocate of flying.

But if you like, I'm fairly certain you can take a ferry from somewhere in Poland to Copenhagen, and then proceed (perhaps by train or plane) to Stockholm. Alternatively you could take a ferry from Poland to Germany, and then a flight, etc.

Thanks to you both . . . looks like flying makes the most sense. Thru Whichbudget, looks like I get get a flight to Stockhom through Wizzair from Budapest for about $75 (http://wizzair.com/skylights/cgi-bin/skylights.cgi) so maybe that is the best way to go. Then, I presume, I should take a train to Budapest? Or should we drive? Thanks again.

I didn't check the prices of the air fares, but I think that train travel from Copenhagen to Stockholm might be faster (more comfortable?) than Krakow to Budapest. Train to Prague (about 7 hours) also gets you to a non-stop flight.

There are many Ferry Connections from Swinoujscie (Polish port right next to Germany) as well as from Gdansk. From Swinoujscie it maybe a shorter trip.
Below is just few of many (were many do not advertise on web and maybe best to contact just local travel agency for discount tickets).
