Best way to get from paris to florence?
Hi everyone,
IIve booked a small tour in naples for a week through tourradar and Ill be in paris 8-9 days before hand and would like to know a good itinerary for paris to naples with 8 days.
I plan on spending 3 nights in florence with a day trip to piza and the coast and also 2 nights in rome.
trying to decide between getting the thello from paris to venice (overnight train)
or
take the trains through france via lyon and turin and see portofino etc
Help? It will just be me and my partner in may

I'm very confused about what you are doing. It seems that you are:
1. Going from Paris to Florence
2. Going from Paris to Naples in 8 days
3. Taking either a night train from Paris to Venice or a day train from Paris to Portofino.
1. Best way from Paris to Florence is to fly.
2. Paris to Naples - visit Italian Lakes (if you're going in the warmer weather - late May to late September) then visit Bologna/Verona/Parma.
3. Take a night train to Venice.
1. Going from Paris to Florence
2. Going from Paris to Naples in 8 days
3. Taking either a night train from Paris to Venice or a day train from Paris to Portofino.

The OP has 8 days to get from Paris to Naples and is looking for a route to take that would include stopping for 3 of those days in Florence (with daytrips to Pisa and the coast). The OP has some ideas to include: Venice, or Lyon, Turin, and Portofino.
ashyyjane, without knowing your interests, it would be difficult to make the best recommendations. Why do these places come to mind for a visit? What do you hope to do or see there?

Sorry for the confusion everyone its my first time ever posting.
Me and my partner are visiting his family in Jersey UK in may and am looking to extend the trip to see Italy.
we will be flying into Paris and will spend 2 weeks in Jersey and then head back to paris.
We arrive back in Paris the Afternoon on the 22nd and have pre-booked a tour in Naples/Sorrento beginning the 31st.
We have between the 22nd and the 30th to get to Naples where the tour begins.
Here is my latest idea.
22/5 Arrive Paris
23/5 Disneyland
24/5 Wander around and Take Thello to Venice (Overnight train)
25/5 Arrive Venice wander and take Afternoon train to Bologna
26/5 Day trip to Modena (30 min train)and Parma (30 min train) return bologna
27/5 wander Bologna Arvo train to Florence
28/5 Day trip to Pisa (1hr train)and maybe la spezia (1hr train from pisa)
29/5 Wander Florence
30/5 wander Florence arvo train to Naples
31/5 tour begin

A few questions that would help with advice.
Why are you flying into Paris rather than the UK if you do not plan to visit Paris?
Why go back to Paris from the UK if you are not actually visiting Paris? Why not fly directly from the UK to Venice or someplace you wish to visit in Italy? You are spending a good bit of time going through Paris with little reward.
Have you been to Paris before? If not, spend a few days there or skip it altogether.
Are amusement parks something your are really into? If not, you can visit other Disney parks, but you can see Paris only in Paris, Venice only in Venice, etc. and they are real places not pretend.
Venice is so fantastic. Plan on two nights minimum - three is better. I think you will be sorry to do less once you are there.
Rather than la Spezia, pair Luca with Pisa.
Will you rest on an overnight train? Some people don't.
Check carefully the time it will take from your hotel in Florence to your hotel in Naples.

If they take the boat to Jersey it's a shorter trip from France than from England. If flying, it's probably better to do so from England.
It looks like they have 1.5 days in Paris. Not much time at all for that wonderful city.
I would not bother to take the time to get to Venice for only a half day.

Yes Im australian and arvo means afternoon.
me and my parter are 24/25 year old and we have been to paris before in winter. this time will just be a refresher.
I havent been to a disneyland and figured now is better than never.
Personally not hugely interested in venice just going to see st marks square and a particular bridge.
