Like the title suggests I'm looking for the Best way to get from London-Heathrow to Oxford. I fly into Heathrow in a little over a week and I'm traveling to Oxford to see my daughter. She says I can just buy a ticket at Heathrow for the Train. But, I really need some more details please. I will be returning with her the next day.

Can someone please help me?

If you take the train you have to go into Central London. I'd just take the Bus to Oxford directly from LHR.
If you are returning to London the next day, take the train then if you want. We took the bus each way and it was much cheaper.

You can travel directly from Heathrow to Oxford by coach, travel time between 70 and 90 minutes. I'd rather take this that go into Central London to take the train.

We took the bus directly from Heathrow to Oxford, and it couldn't have been easier.

There's no financial advantage in prebooking, it's almost unheard of for buses to be full and not all seats are available for online booking anyway

BUT there's substantial financial advantage in buying a return ticket, rather than two singles. The return half doesn't commit you to a specific return journey time.

Ok, good plan on getting from Heathrow airport to Oxford. I'll just take the bus and buy my ticket there. When I return from Oxford however, I don't want to go back to the airport I want to go to Piccadilly square. That bus just goes to the airport right? Any suggestions on my return trip?

From Oxford to London you can take the train or a bus/coach. The Oxford Bus company cited above by kelsey has frequent buses to London: http://x90.oxfordbus.co.uk/. Another bus company is actually called the Oxford Tube. It also has frequent departures: www.oxfordtube.com/tubetimes.aspx. Both these go to Victoria Station, which is not far from Piccadilly Square.

The world is divided between those who recommend the train, followed by the Bakerloo line to Piccadilly Circus (there's no Piccadilly Square), and those who recommend buses (google X90 and Oxford Tube), getting off wherever and getting a (real) tube.

From central Oxford, the arguments are about evenly balanced, but far too tedious to repeat. The bus commands a slightly higher share of journeys taken by people living in central Oxford and a much higher share among those starting east of the centre.

The worst possible place to get a bus to is Victoria Station, partly because it doesn't host buses (Victoria Coach Station is half a mile away, but a very great deal further if you're carrying heavy luggage), and partly because there are no direct tube lines to Piccadilly Circus.
