GreenDragon, Robin Hood's Bay area is gorgeous, isn't it? We liked Staithes as well but our favourite was RHB.

Some of you mentioned some obvious favourites I forgot when posting yesterday, like Venice and Isle of Skye and Whitby Abbey.

For those that want to see the lovely Robin Hood's Bay yourself, here's a pic I took in 2005 when we made it back there. The first time we stayed at a nearby B&B called Smuggler's Rock. This time it was a day trip from Leeds.

"sheila: Any rocky shore in Brittany."

A second from me on this one!

And looking out to the Channel from the American Cemetery at Colleville, imaging how this peaceful scene could have been so very different 60+ years ago.

Finally, Annecy, both looking over the lake, and the views of the river meandering through town.
