I recently purchased 2 pairs of "Flexi" shoes. They are made in both Mexico and Italy, and are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had, and aren't bad looking for comfortable shoes.

maybe i am in the minority here, but i would wear nice looking running shoes to do the daily site seeing and at night for dinner dress up. but here's the real question, if you were at home and had to go for an 8-10 mile walk would you were anything but running shoes. same goes for site seeing. i live in socal so i see tons of tourists. and i mostly see running shoes.

and btw, i say this cause when i went to europe last year i thought i'd look stupid wearing running shoes. so i took my ecco shoes. two things happened. one, i noticed that everyone (locals) were wearing running shoes. the office workers were obviously not, but then again i'm not going to the office while i'm there. two, middle of the trip i had such bad foot pain that i stopped and bought a pair of new balance running shoes. this time i'm going i'm taking 2 pairs of running shoes.

There is no one best walking shoe. Walkers vary in age and weight. High top shoes may help solve some fitting problems. They support ankles. Note athletic shoes. Weight is another concern. Fit is important. Russell Moccasin of Berlin, Wisconsin will make shoes using a 'fitted last'. Gokey (?), St. Paul, is also a specialist shoe place. I know of no one that goes about looking at other peoples shoes. Practical advice: Get in shape for walking by walking. I have never tried this system: soak shoes in water and then wear them walking until dry!

We recently spent 1 week in Manhattan and I have a suggestion that works wonders.

No matter what shoes you wear, change yours socks (e.g. morning, afternoon and evening).

You will feel like a new person!

Cabo San Lucas...are the Flexi shoes only available in Mexico? I searched their website and they do look great but other than Mexico and the UK , I can't find a source.

Then I realized you might be where your name , implies!
