Best Tourist guidebook on Bordeaux? Need suggestions please
I'm looking for a good guidebook on Bordeaux. Wife and I will be there for three weeks. I'll be working, she'll be site-seeing, relaxing, etc. Thus the need for a good book. I don't think there are any books solely devoted to the city and environs, is there? Anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance! |
Hi S,
You might try the "Michelin the Green Guide Atlantic Coast". Bordeaux and Acquitaine are included. The Tourist Information Office also has lots of info on things to see and do. There is a very nice market on Sundays near the Cruiser Colbert. ((I)) |
The little town of Blaye is well worth a visit; it has its own wine, too.
|
Cadogan "Dordogne and the Lot" has great information on Bordeaux and its surrounding area including the wine regions.
|
Another recommendation for the Cadogan guides--theirs are among the best in terms of extensive information.
|
Cadogan has been my favorite for years. Michelin Green is of course always an excellent resource.

Thank you for the replies. I've ordered both Michelin the Green Guide Atlantic Coast and Cadogan "Dordogne and the Lot."
Appreciate the suggestions and will let you know how it all worked out once we get back! |
