Best Tour

Any suggestions for a tour company to europe that uses hotels in good locations and does not focus on shopping. Don't want to stay near the city but in the city. We will be going to Europe in Spring.

thank you.

Haven't been on many tours, prefer independent if possible, but almost all tours will take you shopping - but - you don't have to do that. You just need to meet back at the bus on time or get your own transportation back to the hotel.

The only tour company I've seen that stays in city centers, doesn't go shopping, takes you off the beaten path (of course, they're more "beaten" since so many use his guide books) is Rick Steves. It's a little expensive in my opinion as airfare is not included.

Tauck Tours is one of the finest escorted tour groups--they're expensive but worth it from all I've heard from friends who've used them. The website I think is www.tauck.com.

If "in the city" means London, Paris and Rome, then I don't see why you want or need a tour company.
