What is the best, most useful tip you have ever garnered from this site?

It's a tie:
rufustfirefly - the Haus Lippman in Beilstein. Just a fantastic little spot on the Mosel. Perfect for exploring the area.

bobthenavigator - the Stella d'Italia just outside Lugano. Not only gorgeous views from the room, but delectable food in its restaurant.

I am printing out good info regarding next year's Italy trip, so there might be more awards next Fall.

I wish I could remember who gave me this tip, but it was a great short cut to get to the Borghese Gallery in Rome by taking the stairs to the left of the Spanish Steps by the metro stop and when I got to the top to take a right turn by the horse stables and walk across a park and when I got to the other side there would be a main street and across the street would be a statue and one of the entrances to the Borghese Gardens. Perfect, worked like a charm and probably saved me a mile of extra walking. Thanks whoever you were.

1. Best advice came from my older aunt who told my husband and me to do whatever we could to ensure that we travel to Europe while we were still young enough to be able to walk those cobblestone streets and climb those hills.

2. To make reservations at museums so as to not wait in line...worked like a charm in Florence.

3. Scala Reale tours in Rome...excellent!

Three tips were very nice.

. From someone I can't remember: the Pensione Panda (near the Spanish Steps) in Rome. <i>Tiny</i> room but, given the great location, a great value for the money.

. From Howard (as I recall): how to get to the Circumvesuviana line at the Naples train station. Even though it turned out to be quite simple, it was still nice to have specific directions.

. From Bob (theNavigator): the suggestion to visit Montalcino, in Tuscany. Not only did we love it, but we also loved the nearby abbey of Sant Antimo.

Bobthenavigator giving me the info on Sean Rissati guides in the Cinque Terre. He was invaluable for a condensed visit to the area.

Best tip was actually a hotel recommendation for Waikiki (Honolulu Hawaii)!

Second, knowing that the end of Paris zip codes matches the number of each arrondisements is a good one.
