Best sights and resturants in Barcelona

Hi guys, arriving in Barcelona tomorrow for 5 days, please recommend best initnerary, we are not massive art fans, have prepaid tics to la Familia...love a great resturant, have eaten our way around Spain the last 2 weeks...staying in L'Example...would value your 'must see/do' advice, the entry to a lot of stuff seems very pricey, would like to see the best of...thanks!!

You can try Tapas 24, Bar Mut and Restaurant Windsor. If you want something more, then try Gresca at Provença, 230, and maybe Coure at Pasaje Marimon, 20.

I noticed you are also asking about San Sebastián. We spent 11 days eating our way through these two cities in April and had some fabulous meals. You can find the details in our trip report

Enjoy!

What is your restaurant budget, per person, before drinks?

As Robert mentions, Tapes24 might suit you...prices moderate; staff speaks English. Look at the photos on their site:

I mentioned my meal(s) there in this report:

Fabulous El Junco and Mercedes de Córdoba dances in Tablao Cordobés all your nights in Barcelona. Tablao Cordobés, right on Las Ramblas, is one of the most prestigious flamenco restaurants in all of Spain. http://www.tablaocordobes.es/es

Mercedes de Córdoba won the prestigious Premio Nacional de Arte Flamenco in Córdoba 2013. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE8ejuTNpaM

And El Junco is just brilliant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sENoCuTQYPs

Have lunch or a night out in the vibrant Barceloneta neighbourhood just inland from the beach with the same name: http://www.theguardian.com/travel/20...taurants-spain

Medieval El Born is excellent tapas bars, cafés, restaurants, sights (the wonderful Santa María del Mar church ++), shopping and atmosphere: http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.c...s/el-born.html

Montjuic (The Jewish mountain) almost right in the city center: The castle, the history, the magnificent views of the city and the sea, the olympic arenas, the museums, the theaters etc. etc. http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/Parc...docdW4LHetpKP8

Montjuic was my favourite place to visit in Barcelona - there's the old fort on top of the hill, sculpture park, Joan Miro museum, Olympic Park, Botanical Gardens, Museum of Catalonian Art, Magic Fountains and cable cars, and lots of fabulous views across the city and out into the med. We started at the top and worked our way down, dropping in at any of the attractions we fancied en-route, and passing navy-shirted polo players riding their ponies in a dusty manege at the end in the early evening light.

Two favourite eateries of ours were Quimet y Quimet, which does cold tapas and sandwiches in a tiny room lined with every alcoholic beverage known to man, plus beers from their own microbrewery. Also Las Tasqueta De Blai which does great pintxos at a euro a piece.
