Best shopping in Paris ?
Anyone has any favourite places in Paris for
shopping? Or how about just popular places you've heard of ? Thanks !! |
Shopping for what?
|
You know... stuff... clothes,shoes.. everything you want but don't need.
|
So Dave, get busy, give a list of shops that have "stuff"! LOL.
|
Stuff happens.
|
But where does stuff happen ?
Dave in Paris has no idea ? |
The basement of BHV has an incredibly complete line of rollers -- for funiture, under the car creepers, whatever -- in every imaginable size and color.
|
And if you don't go crazy on the size you can fit a lot of them into your suitcase.
|
Don't tell anybody. Word gets out, the tourist hordes will descend to the basement and my roller shopping will be ruined.
|
Dave,
Then you'll have to move on to BHV's amazing selection of "tournevols de robinetterie", although I prefer Castorama for those. Casto even stocks the incredibly rare 8mm size! ;) |
f1reddie: Might I suggest that you read Suzy Gershman's "Born to Shop: Paris" book -- a fun, organized and thorough read. Updated annually. The author lives in Paris and gives a lot of good advice on all the neighborhoods.
Enjoy! |
The "popular" dept stores are Galleries Lafayette, Bon Marche, Le Printemps and La Samarataine. There's a long thread here on shopping for handbags if you do a search. Rue de Grenelle has lots of shoe stores. You'll also find lots of other ideas if you search shopping AND paris here.
