Best scenic drives
 

I'm going to be in Italy for a couple of years. What are some of your favorite drives?

Denise--Sorrento to Maratea, along the coast. Rivello (not Ravello), Sapri, Maratea loop. Amalfi Coast, and inland mountain roads from A.C.<BR>i am envious!

whoops! forgot to mention the real breathtaker: road from Maratea up to the "Cristo de Maratea" statue (100 ft tall) on the mountaintop overlooking the entire Gulf of Policastro. the last mile or so requires absolute faith in italian civil engineers who designed/built the "suspended" road!

From Arrezzo to Urbino over the Alpe della Luna ( the Mountains of the Moon)<BR><BR>Anywhere around the lakes (Garda, Como)<BR><BR>Road up to Cortona and the view from the piazza there over Lago di Trasimeno

From Ventimiglia up over Col du Larche into the French Alps (Queyras).<BR><BR>Best wishes,<BR><BR>Rex<BR>
