best restaurnats in Paris
We will be staying at Park Hyatt Vendome in June 2006. Any suggestion for restaurants close to the hotels?
1. We would love to have baguette/coffee breakfast in the morning. where is the best place for fresh baggate? 2. We also like seafood. Where is a good place for that? We will be travelling with a 7 y.o. so probably won't be able to go to a suite/gown type of place. Scottydog |
sorry, what is a suite/gown type of place?
What do you want to spend on meals, per person? |
I think the poster meant 'suit/gown type of place' = formal??

aha, good point.
VERY few places in Paris require formal dress. With the child, you'll want to be dining early, that will be more of a challenge as most places don't begin serving dinner until 7:30pm , a few at 7 perhaps. Budget suggestion would help. Does the restaurant have to be near the hotel? |
Surely your hotel will have coffee and baguettes, but if you want to venture out, there are plenty of cafés in that area - just keep your eyes open when you arrive and you'll probably spot a half-dozen places to get breakfast.

Highly recommend Chez Flottes (one of our favorite places in Paris) at 2 rue Cambon - a relaxed and casual bistro sort of place (extensive menu, also in English, continuous service daily 11:30-midnight, moderate prices, wonderful food).
Or, just head north on rue de la Paix to Place de l'Opera - lots and lots of restaurants in every direction. Grand Cafe Capucines (blvd Capucines) is another casual spot with moderate prices, long hours, continuous service, open daily. As mentioned above, though, be sure to wander all about your "neighborhood" early on checking out cafes and restaurants. |
