Best restaurants in And around Positano
Going to Positano end of June. We love food and wine! Would like to hear some good recommendations. Kind of food snobs. Looking for off the beaten path, local, quaint restaurants. All price ranges. We are in our late 30's.
Can't wait to hear what some of you experienced travelers say! |
This is my first time. Am I posting correctly? Other people seem to get responses so fast. Any help is much appreciated.

Hi
Welcome to Fodors Jynx :) I posted this on a previous thread. In Positano try Ristorante Da Costantino - http://www.dacostantino.it. Bookings recommended - ask for a window seat for the incredible vista. I loved the gnocchi al sugo. Just like my Mamma makes. You can find more info by using the "Search the Forum" facility at the top of the page. This is a popular topic so you should find plenty of advice. Don't forget to post a trip report inclusive of your restaurant experiences. We'd love to hear from you. |
Thanks! Will check it out. Is it worth is to go out of Positano to eat?.....just to do something different? I would love to be able to just go in someones house and have dinner. Wishful thinking.....but would be so cool!

Hi again
Having dinner with a host family is a great idea. I don't know of any but I'm sure your accommodation staff or the tourist bureau - http://www.positanonline.it - can help. Maybe this place comes close to what you're after - http://www.rifugiodeglidei.it/index_eng.html. |
We loved our meal at http://www.latagliata.com/ in 2007. If you go for lunch the views are amazing. They had a shuttle that would come pick you up and drop you off as its quite high above Positano.

Can't wait to check these out! Keep them coming! What about pizza. Heard it was good in Naples.....but I don't think we will be going there.

Hi! You will find a list of some of the good restaurants in Positano here at http://www.tripadvisor.com/GoListDet..._Positano.html

If you want off the beaten path quaint restaurants my advice would be to get out of Positano and head for the town of Furore, or the seaport town of Cetara. Both of those are well endowed with restaurants out of the tourist path. There are other restaurants in the hills, besides those in those two towns, but they would require bus rides or car hire.
