The only one I got a chance to see last week was Wicked & it was excellent. Others here mentioned liking Spamalot.

How about "Equus" with Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths. I believe it's closing September, 6 2007. I saw it this February and loved it! Wish I could have seen it at least once more... Oh well, at least I was able to see it...

It really depends on what you like. Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera are classics. Mary Poppins, Avenue Q, Spamalot, Mamma Mia and Billy Elliott are all popular, although I have yet to see them. Lion King has amazing sets and costumes, and Wicked is all-around amazing. Obviously I'm more into the musicals than plays, but you'll have no shortage of options either way. Les Mis is my absolute favorite, but most all of them are good! If you don't really care what you see, you can always wait and see what you get at the half-price booths in Leicester Square. They at least won't be more expensive (although the cheap seats may not be discounted).

(I haven't seen Equus and can't comment on how good it is, but it does have some nudity. Just in case that would be an issue for you.)

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLIES. WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN LES MIS AND THE PHANTOM , AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT BILLY ELLIOT AND MARY POPPINS.COULD I FIND TICKETS FOR THEM AT HALF PRICE?DO YOU THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN WICKED OR SPAMALOT?I THINK WE WILL BE ABLE TO SEE ONLY TWO MUSICALS AND WE ARE TRYING TO DECIDE WHICH ONES.

The day we were trying to get tickets, I know that there were no discounts for Billy Elliott or Spamalot, and I don't believe there were for Mary Poppins. That's not to say there won't be discounts when you're there, but they're all very popular at the moment. Of the four I've only seen Wicked, so I can't compare them for you, but I'm sure any of them will be great.

I will say that Spamalot is doing a US tour over the next year, so if you're US residents, you might check and see if it's coming to your area. That way you could plan to see it then and save a night in London for something else.
