We go to France every year (we were there last two weeks in June for World Cup) Keep in mind that TGV (hi-speed trains) allow you to zip across France in hours - we were in Province in April - Avignon and Arles - (there's a TGV stop at Charles de Gaulle Airport!) the air does smell of lavender! <BR>go to some small towns on market day - drink plenty of wine and enjoy!! also, Strasbourg and the Rhine is "touristy," and wonderful, "chaque en son gout"

Thanks again everyone for your great suggestions. There is so much to see in France, I'll have to choose wisely as we will only have 2 weeks. Wish we had 3!
