Best place to visit in Austrian Alps in June
Hi Friends. We are planning to visit Austria in June, 2016. We are planning to stay in Vienna for 2 nights, Salzburg for 3 nights and Austrian Alps for 3 nights. We want to stay in alps to enjoy the scenic beauty of Mountains and enjoy snow activities (if any during that time). It would be great if you could suggest the best place to stay in alps which fulfills our purpose and has a good connectivity.
Thanks

I ski and know that Zermatt is open in summer. Here is one of the websites I used for snow conditions and planning which has an article on this
www.onthesnow.com
In Austria, they list
Hinterux
Kaprun
Dachstein
Dachstein isn't too far from Salzburg. Hinterux is closer to Innsbruck. Kaprun is SW of Salzburg. Now the odd thing is Dachstein's website says they close in April but I know Kaprun and Hinterux are open until about July.
Haven't been to any, ski resorts in general are a little trouble to get to. Kaprun is near Zell am See and that would probably be the easiest, but I'm not sure. Zell am See is on the rail line between Salzburg and Innsbruck.
