Best place to stay near port in Venice

Hi everyone,
we will be sailing on the Celebrity Silhouette on the 4th September.
We have been to Venice before and will spend time in Venice at end of cruise ( Over night day and a half )
Last time we had a hassle getting from airport to our hotel and then from hotel to port.
This time we want to just fly in and be near the port .
We would like a modern, clean comfortable hotel that has a bar and restaurant.
We will be flying in from Stuttgart Germany.
What are your suggestions?
It will just be my husband and I.
Thanking you
Donna

Hi. I cannot speak from personal experience, but perhaps this website may be helpful: http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/...nal-hotels.htm

Hmm Donna I know some of these Venice apartments
http://www.traveltuscany.net/ourvill...bregion=Venice

Check them if you like
Hope you enjoy a great Venice vacation don't miss to buy tickets to the Elevator to the Top of the Campanile and make sure a visit to St. Mark’s Basilica is on the cards.

Gondola rides are awesome for couples but a touch costly

I'm not sure what type of hotels are in the areas of the cruise terminals. However, why couldn't you just stay at the hotel of your choice and take a water taxi directly from the hotel to the terminal? To me the convenience would be worth the expense.

Hi everyone,
we have already been to Venice before and spent a lot of time seeing all of the sights. This cruise spends 2 days in Venice at the end of the cruise so will have time again then.
We are flying in the day before the cruise and do want the convenience of being near the ship.
Hi Delaine, we had all sorts of difficulty getting to the cruise terminal last time when we were near the Square and just don't want the hassle.
Thanks davidgreen, I will check out your site.
Thanks everyone for your help
