We spent one Christmas in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with our family and another in Salzburg. Both had mild weather but lovely, fluffy snow. Garmisch has a big ski jumping fest on New Year's Day so the place is very convivial. I recommend the Hotel Edelweiss (do not confuse it with the Edelweiss which is part of the American Army Base there) in Garmisch and The Blau Gans in Salzburg. Check my trip report entitled Winter Wonderland for a report on Garmisch.

We live in Florida and my husband loves snow. We went to Europe twice at Christmas--our favorite city was Vienna, for the christmas markets there and the music. It rained a lot in Salsburg--that is nicer in the summeer. We finally went to Quebec city, in Montreal, and it snowed and snowed so he was happy. Since it is your honemoon, I imagine you want a pretty place you can both emjoy--both Vienna and Quebec City would fit the bill.
