Best place to collect car in Avignon
We have a choice of the TVG station or the 'commercial' center for our
car rental with Europcar.
On the plus side it would be easier to find at the rail station, however additional fees of about $50. I tried calling the rental agent but they were not much help.
Anyone had a car rental with Europcar (through AutoEurope) in Avignon and where did you collect it?

In 2000, we picked up a car at Avis at the old SNCF station in Avignon (just outside the old city walls). It was a bit of a pain getting in and out of the huge concrete parking lot next door to the rental agency, and we finally had to ask directions to find the road we wanted out of the city.
Since then: the new Avignon TGV station, about five times. Dead easy by comparison, and also easy to get on the road to wherever you're going.

Wow you guys are fast!
Thanks for the quick replies...TGV station it is. Just have to bite the bullet and pay the extra fees for collecting it there. Money isn't everything is it? Priceless is: starting off without an argument and/or getting lost and that pick up point sounds much easier.
Thanks again,

Actually, if you haven't been there, I think finding the TGV station is a lot harder than finding the main rail station in Avignon. Perhaps maps have improved, now, but when I first tried to find it in the first year after it was built, all the maps I had were pretty vague (even the Michelin) and it wasn't that easy to find.
I didn't pick up my car there, but dropped it off there.

Which car company and what location? It varies by company and location. Generally, the ones at the airport or TGV station are open on Sundays, ones in town center often are not (Avis at Avignon central gare is not).
