best paris transportation
my friend and i will be traveling to paris in march arriving there on the 10 and leaving the 18. whats the best value for transportation passes? im stuck between the paris visite and the carte orange...what are the pros and cons and options with zones, pricing, etc. thanks

For the 10th and 11th, use either <i>tickets 't'</i> purchased in a <i>carnet</i> of 10, or daily <i>Mobilis</i> passes (if you plan on more than 4 Métro rides or bus stages each day). If you're under 26, get the <i>Ticket Jeunes</i> each day instead of the <i>Mobilis</i>.
For the 12th through 18th, get a 2-zone <i>Carte Orange</i> (the <i>Paris Visite</i> doesn't make any sense for you). |
thanks for the help...ill be flying into the Charles de Gaulle airport can i get it once i arrive there?

oh and one more thing its available in zones 1-5 right?

Yes, at the RER ticket window above the train station in Terminal 2.
You won't need a 5-zone card since you'll only be making one trip there (on the 18th). Better to get a 2-zone and single tickets from and to the airport. You'll need to provide a 1" square photo for the ID card (digital is OK). |
It's wise to make a copy of your passport. Another reduced a little bit can be used for the 1" picture to be cut out.
