Best outdoor bars in Paris
They forgot La Closerie des Lilas. The Rotonde that I'm familiar with is the famous one on Blvd. Montparnasse.
I wouldn't call CLoserie des Lilas an outside bar myself. It's a rather pricey restaurant, with a piano bar inside, and some outside tables. But the bar is inside.
There is probably a Rotonde in about every city and every arrondisement, it's a common name. I don't relaly think that list is very good myself, a lot of them are really expensive places. |
Yes, Christina. The Lilas always had a sign outside saying "American Bar" inside, but if you look at old photos of the literary 20s, all the notables are sitting on its outside terrace, as they are at the Rotonde across the street.
The problem with sitting outside is that all the smokers are out there, now that they can't sit inside and smoke. So the air outside is harder to breathe than the air inside.
No, Nikki. The air outside is harder to breathe because of all the traffic and subsequent air pollution, smog.

The Rotonde at Stalingrad is indeed very nice and not expensive. Les Petites Gouttes on the Esplanade Nathalie Sarraute and still a rather secret address.
