Best of Europe Tour with Cosmos leaving on May 6, 2010
Anyone been on this tour? Any suggestions of what difinates to do or not? We are visiting London 1.5 days on own, then off to Amsterdam, Rhine Valley, Switzerland: Lake Lucerne and the Alps, Verona, Venice, Rome, Capri and Pompeii, Florence, French Riviera, Grenoble-Beaune and then ending in Paris. Lots to do, just wondering if there are any must see's that are not listed on the intinary.
Also, weather in that region in May? Pack for all sorts of climate?
Thanks

"weather in that region"
Your "region" actually spans a huge part of the continent, from London through the Alps to Rome and the French Mediterranean, so you should certainly be prepared for both cold and warm weather.

Hi
We were on a Trafalgar tour but did Mt. Pilatus in Lucerne by ourselves (cheaper than Trafalgar's excursion). The excursion started with a boat trip on the lake, ascent by cog railway and descent by cable car. Check with the tourist office or Google it.

I hope this is a month long trip or you won't be seeing much besides a bus. Unless you are staying at least three days each stop, you probably won't have time for anything not provided by the tour company. After freezing in Paris and Amsterdam one July (high in Amsterdam was 48 with lows in the 30's), it's hard to say what the weather will be. Assume it will be cool (cold in the Alps) in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France and warm to hot in Italy.
