best Munich beer halls - for Feb 2006
 

traveling to munich with 21 yr old and a teenage son. Not sure how we are going to handle beer gardens with the ages of the 2 kids. Does anyone have experience with high school kids with regards to this.

With some exceptions, the legal age for drinking in Germany is 16.

Harking back to when I was 21 and less, if I were taken to the Hofbrauhaus I would tend to join in the boisterous and drunken activities, and deem such to be not only condoned but blessed and approved of by the person who took me. Alternatively, if I were taken to a restaurant where beer was offered in a responsbile fashion, I would have had that behavior reinforced. Your call.

You ncould go to the Hofbrauhaus and I strongly suspect your son will be the one who is keeping an eye on, and very closely imitating, you.
