Best Means of Travel

We will be in Paris for 5 days and looking to visit local sites as well as going to Versailles. We are a family with 2 teenage kids. What is the best means of transport.

Metro and bus (RER commuter trains for Versailles) do for most people. Perhaps your teenagers can help out with some route planning:

There's also a bus way to go to Versailles, which is nicer, in my opinon. You get to see more of the local atmosphere on your trip.

Here are your alternatives.

For Paris, walking is the best means, followed by bus and métro. For Versailles, bus or RER.

Agree - for Paris use feet- assume you will walk at least 5 miles per day. Use Metro for longer trips - or walk to sights during the day and grab a cab back to the hotel to freshen up for dinner (for 4 people it won't be very expensive).
