Best map/atlas of southern Spain?
Hi, all.
I'm planning a six-week cycling tour in Spain in the summer , focusing on the events and battlefields of the Spanish Civil War. I'm anticipating a start in Jerez de la Frontera, and a finish in Barcelona. I don't particularly like GPS systems for this sort of thing and am looking around for the best possible map atlas of southern Spain. The ones I'm finding online are scaled, at best, 1/400K. I'd prefer a larger scale; 1/125K would be optimum. Anyone have any suggestions as to what's available and where it may be acquired? |
id you check with Michelin?

First place I looked, AJ. I used one of their atlases on my Benelux bikeabout last year, and found it satisfactory. Best they offer for Spain, though, is scaled 1/400K. That's considerably less detail than I'd like.

you want a Michelin Regional Map.
Like this. http://www.mapsman.com/store/product.php?id=114 well you will need more than just this one! |
Michelin has Zoom maps (Scale 1:150,000) of selected parts of Spain; No.121 - Madrid y alrededores, No. 124 - Costa del Sol, No.123 - Costa Blanca, No.147 - Zoom Barcelona y Adreded. C.Brava, No.148 - Costa Daurada, No.149 - Valencia C.D.Azahar, and a set of Zoom maps of the entire north coast, but nothing more on Andalucia.
